Briljent CEO, Kathy Carrier, Awarded the Paul Clarke Visionary Award

By Andrea Light

On September 23, 2019, the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne awarded Kathy Carrier, Briljent CEO and founder of the Luminous Fund, with the Paul Clarke Visionary Award.

The award was established to honor exemplary individuals who have shown dedication to making their community a more vibrant and thriving place where everyone has an opportunity to succeed. In the history of the foundation, this was only the third time that this prestigious award has been presented.

The Luminous Fund was established by Kathy Carrier and husband Dave in 2016. Their original motivation was to pass the foundation of giving and service to their four children and their significant others. They were inspired by the idea that Briljent’s success will continue to bless their family, their employees, and the lives of others.

Since founding the Luminous Fund, Kathy Carrier and her family have distributed more than $300,000 to charities chosen by employees and family members of Briljent, with over $100,000 given in 2019 alone.

Meanwhile, in August of this year, Briljent had the opportunity to showcase the Luminous Fund during the close-out dinner of the 2019 Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC) in Chicago.

The Luminous Fund has had a significant impact on charities that focus on the following services areas:

  • Women, Infants & Children
  • Cancer-Related Services
  • Youth Learning
  • Housing & Homelessness
  • Wellness & Elderly
  • Honoring Veterans

Congratulations to Kathy, whose passion for selfless giving means this award is much deserved.
